The W.S.F. Group sources a majority of its precious metal bearing materials ("PMBM") from feed stock such as electrical, electronic and telecommunication products and autocatalysts. The W.S.F. Group's PMBM recovery operations are amongst the world's best.Due to the importance that the PMBM recovery operations play in the W.S.F. Group's overall business strategy, the W.S.F. Group has sought to increase its feed of PMBM by developing additional services and investing in appropriate technology to reach optimal metal yields and to destroy all proprietary technology to prevent surplus products from re-entering the market. For example, the exact determination of the amount of precious metals present in each parcel of PMBM is the key for correct settlement with all our customers. As a result, the W.S.F. Group has invested millions of dollars to develop world standard and effective electronic scrap sampling procedures. This has led to the W.S.F. Group employing Induction Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) using matrix matched collaboration standards to analyze precious metal samples obtained from processed PMBM feedstock. The ICP-OES sample analysis is an internationally recognised and accurate qualitative and quantitative analytical procedure. The W.S.F. Group's PMBM recovery operations are environmentally friendly and embrace the metallurgical process as well as gas cleaning and waste water treatment facilities. The pyrometallurgical process, for example, guarantees dioxin-free incineration of the plastics contained in the PMBM. Moreover, the W.S.F. Group is continuously investing resources to reduce emissions from its processing plant.
